CLASS TRIP
FINAL YEAR, COMPUTER SCIENCE, 2ND FEB TO 6TH FEB

Hi guys.

I created this blog to describe my class trip to you all.

We had a class trip on Feb. 2nd to Feb. 5th, in which nearly 49 ppl from our class came. We went to very nice places called munnar and thenmala...
It was sooooo nice to visit those places...

We started our journey on 2nd Feb. at around 10:00 p.m. from our hostels. Right from the beginning there was much fun. We started dancing in the bus. A girl called Nilima had birthday on 3rd Feb., so it was nice time to wish her on the bus and have a nice cake. i couldn’t sleep on the first night on bus, so while others were fast asleep i just went to the driver seat and was watching the road and the places nearby the road. There were some 3 ppl with me at tht time. We were just chit chatting.

The next morning we reached at munnar. It was a fantastic experience. Wherever my eyes went, I could see tea plantations... It was such a beautiful sight. We first stopped at a place called view point where we saw the morning sun rise in all its glory. There was a small stream flowing, I dunno its name, but due to cold weather there was cold steam coming out of the stream. I had seen this with my eyes for the first time...

We came to Munnar Tourist Home, got refreshed and had breakfast, and then we went to a sanctuary. This sanctuary is situated in the district of Iddukki, Eravikulam and is very famous for Nilgiri Tahr (mountain goat) .To catch a glimpse of Nilgiri Tahrs; u gotta walk for at least 3 km on the rocky path. But it was kinda a trekking. We reached to the top and there they were, all in a herd. Nilgiri Tahr are so habituated to the human presence that they didn’t run away when they saw us... We took pic standing near them and still they didn’t move a bit. Only when we tried to touch them, did they go away from us.

After this we came back to the main center in Munnar and had lunch. Then we headed off to other places in Munnar.
First we went to Munnar Dam. The water at tht time was 1.6 km deep. Near to the Dam, there is facility for speed boating. Never before in my life had i done speed boating, so it was a fantastic experience for me. When the boat started, it was ok. But the real fun started after we covered some 1 km. The driver started turning the boat and the boat was turning on both sides. I was soooooo afraid. I thought, I was gonna die because so some fault in the boat. But then it was all the trick of the driver.
Just outside to the place where speed boating was done, there was an elephant kept for riding and for taking pic. Even sitting on the elephant was my first experience.

After this we went to Echo Point. There is a lake. We are standing on one side and on the other side there are lots of trees. Its kinda forest. When we shout from this side ,we get echo from the trees. This place too was good.

This was the first day…

We had our dinner and then had a bus journey. I didn’t get a seat till 12:00 a.m. After that some how I managed to get a seat and slept somehow. We reached Thenmala at around 6:00 a.m. As our hotel booking was already done, so there was no problem. I directly headed to a room and slept my heart out.

At around 10:00, we headed to the main centre point at Thenmala. There are two main places in Thenmala. One is leisure zone and other is adventure zone.

Leisure zone was covered on second day, while adventure zone was covered on the third and the last day.

Leisure zone consisted of Sculpture Garden, Board Walking and Swaying Bridge. Sculpture Garden had in all 28 sculptures, all depicting some or other emotion and some part of human quest towards life. One sculpture I remember very clearly. There was a sculpture consisting of a man and woman. The man was looking directly to the Moon but the lady was watching the reflection of moon in the dish full of water. The caption was “Do not go for the external beauty but for the internal beauty”. After the sculpture garden was board walk, which lead us to Swaying Bridge. The bridge was made to bring the nostalgic feeling back to us.

Then we went to Perivayur waterfall. It is said that this is one of the highest waterfalls in Kerala (Only God knows). We had lots and lots of fun here.

We headed back to main centre point of Thenmala where musical fountain was waiting for us. This musical fountain was just like one which I saw in Vegaland, Ernakulam. It didn’t hold any special attraction for me. The special thing was the adventure zone.

We had our dinner and then went to terrace for camp fire. I play bongo there and sang songs and those who drank, drank a lot…

This was the second day..

We had breakfast on the third and last day and then headed towards Kallada Reservoir Shendruney Wildlife Sanctuary. There we did 1 hour boating. I and Sachin were outside the border of the ship. It was fun to have some risk. I usually like this kinda risk. Can’t help myself. It is said that this sanctuary has all kinds of wildlife. But we didn’t see any.

After this the adventure zone started. The first thing to come was Soft Trekking. We were divided into groups of 25 and one group was sent for trekking and other for the other part of adventure zone.

The trekking was of 3.5 km length. We were trekking deep inside the forest. And it really gave us the feel of forest. When we stood there silently, we could hear the voice of forest, the chirping of birds and wind blowing.

After having lunch, we headed to the final part of our tour. We went to the adventure zone. That consisted of elevated walk, rock climbing, river crossing and tree climbing. First came the elevated walk, and then came rock climbing. I dunno why many ppl didn’t do it, but it was kinda fun and I liked it. Totally just 5 ppl from 49 ppl did it. The climbing was to be done through the use of hands and legs, while the climbing down was to be done through legs. When I reached the top it gave me the feeling of achievement. As if I had reached the top of the world and every one was down there watching me… I live in fantasy world so don’t worry!!!!!!!!

Then we went to river crossing. It was a stretch of about 30 mt. The rope was hung between two trees and beneath was a river. We were hanging on the rope with the help of just a hook. It was really really a great fun to watch ppl react while doing river crossing. Some ppl were stuck in between. No energy was left in them to reach till the end. Some ppl rotated a full 360 degree while turning. I completed the whole stretch, albeit it took a real great strength to reach the last 5 mt. My brain was rolling as if all the blood was in my head. My biceps and forearms were paining like anything. Still the feeling that I completed the whole stretch gave me a lot of satisfaction. My gym practice helped me.

Then there was a ladder hung to a tree. I climbed it too and reached the top.

This was the last thing of the tour and then we boarded the bus and headed towards our hostel...

Even the entire bus journey was fun. We danced lots, Played lots of prank. Ajay was the greatest target. Luckily I didn’t become a target this time (Thank God!!!!).

Only one thing that let my spirits down was that there was separation. I had doubts from the very beginning that there was gonna be division among Northies and Mallis and that thing happened. Wherever possible there was groupism happening. I didn’t like it. Still I couldn’t control it. It was just happening. Take for instance when we went to adventure zone. We were told to be divided into 2 groups each of 25 ppl. Now the northies were in all 21 and we were in short of 4 ppl, still no malli offered to come. I give my special thanks to Fiaz, Salih and Ranjit for offering to come with us. Even in campfire this thing was clear...

Anyway what’s gone is gone...

In short my trip was worth remembering. I got to know lots of friends in my old friends. I did things which I didn’t do earlier.
